Here is your chance to purchase a very rare original 1965 Corvette 425hp IF code that is a totally rebuilt 4 bolt short block with casting #3855962 that was cast on F-9-65 (June 09 1965). The block HAS NOT been decked, and is one of only 2,157 rare original BBC Corvette 396 425hp engines that were ever made for the BBC Corvette in 1965. The pad is still virgin, with broach lines, and is stamped with the original Tonawanda assembly date of T0624IF with 5 121214. This block is currently at a freshly torque plate honed 4.25 bore. This engine has been totally rebuilt with the original 4 bolt main caps and bolts and is ready to run. This engine has the more pump gas friendly forged TRW 11-1 pistons, with the original #6223 steel crank that was freshly turned and polished at .030/.030 and the rotating assembly was balanced to within one gram. The factory forged rods were magnafluxed, resized, and fit with new ARP Wave lock bolts, Clevite main/rod/cam bearings and Sealed Power molly rings were also installed. This block has been magnafluxed and pressure checked and is guaranteed leak free. Install your cam and heads and you will have a VERY RARE ORIGINAL. The block has been boiled, has all new plugs and new brass freeze plugs. The block has been primed and painted with 3 coats of Duplicolor Chevy orange paint. This block is a rare original and does have one properly lip installed sleeve in the #2 cylinder that happened sometime over the last 40 years. One helicoil is installed in one loose motor mount hole. Otherwise, all bolt holes and threads are perfect. The block is a beauty and is as described |
